Education

  • Education/Career Specialist conducts a full assessment of each youth to gauge education, savings, personal and career goals.
  • Education/Career Specialist and a professional Career Counselor work with each individual to determine career aspirations and to establish a pathway necessary to reach the desired goals of the participant.
  • GED or high school equivalent is obtained at area programs if the youth does not have a high school diploma.
  • College scholarships and other financial assistance is sought for each youth seeking a two- or four-year degree.
  • Grants and other financial assistance will be sought for youth in credible certificate programs.
  • Each participant is expected to transition to self-sufficiency within 36 months on their own or with roommates or moving into a college dorm room and securing employment in addition to having a viable plan for completing their college degrees.

  • Resumes
  • Interview preparation
  • Job Placement
  • After-care follow up
  • Five year tracking of job retainment

Community Service

  • Four hours of community service per month at an established nonprofit, church or volunteer program.
  • Goal is to assist the youth in recognizing their value to community, adding to their job skills and improving their leadership ability.
