Executive Summary
Jeremiah's Promise aims high in supporting each foster youth in preparing to transition confidently into adulthood. At present Jeremiah's Promise offers a three-year program that includes housing, mentoring, academic support, career planning, therapeutic counseling, savings programs and life skills development for up to six, high-achieving women at a time who are between the ages of 18-24 years old. We plan to add more homes in our state and nation as resources are made available to finance expansion.
Initial Launch and Expansion Goals of the Program
- Jeremiah's Promise has launched services in Palo Alto in 2004
- The nonprofit agency raised $1.3 million to purchase and renovate its first, permanent home located in Sunnyvale. At present, we serve women who have recently aged out of foster care.
- We plan to open a second home in the near future, offering identical services to 18- to 24-year-old men who have emancipated from foster care in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
- Long term goals call for expanding our ministry to any community in the nation who would be involved in supporting it.
